I went to Jakarta to try for my first time ever the famous ‘Konro bakar’, Indonesian beef ribs that originate in the city of Makassar, South Sulawesi. Jakarta is one of my favourite cities in the world for street food and local genuine cuisine, and it’s just so fun to explore all the little establishments that are not the usual mainstream places that you see by foreign YouTube vloggers. When it comes to Makassar cuisine in Jakarta, the most famous one is probably the restaurant ‘Sop Konro Karebossi’, which even Mark Wiens vlogged about. But not many people know about the restaurant below:

A little place in South Jakarta that is so so packed with locals, a true hidden gem, serving amazing Indonesian beef ribs. I tried 4 dishes here:
Tata ribs: these are grilled beef ribs in a peanut sauce, which are a specific recipe of this restaurant. Super tender, peanutty, with a hint of bbq sauce, I was in heaven!
Iga goreng Dabu-Dabu: fried ribs in dabu-dabu sauce; these were a bit more tough, chewy, and fatty but certainly super tasty and addictive. The dabu-dabu sauce is made with lime, oranges, tomato and the cooking water of the ribs!
Sop Saundra: a buffalo offal soup with all the chewy and tasty organs that will make your mouth dance! Lungs, gizzards, liver and some other stuff I couldn’t recognise. Just divine!
Sop Durien: after all that meat I had to go of a refreshing dessert. The cool thing about that Durian soup was that it contained the real fruit inside, as opposite to processed durian cream or gelato. Can’t believe that there are people in this planet that don’t like Durian!

This is a travel for food channel and I enjoy eating street food around the world! Eating street food from different countries is what keeps me alive :D
