This episode is all about traditional Russian crafts—some that have stood the test of time and others that are making a comeback. Take Kolomna pastila, a sweet treat made from fruit puree, for example. Its original recipe dates back to the 14th century.

Then there’s Gzhel porcelain. The iconic blue-and-white patterns are painted with a single brushstroke, a technique unique to this craft. The special paint formulas ensure these designs last forever.

Another standout is Zhostovo trays, known for their vibrant floral designs on a black background. Costing from two to 200,000 rubles, such a tray will serve more than one generation.
