AR-0119: In 2005, something strange happened that was a follow-up to a weird event that occurred twenty years before... In 1985 George A. Romero released the third of his legendary Saga of The Dead films with his magnum opus, "Day of The Dead", and "The Return of The Living Dead" came out at the same time, giving zombie fans something of a unique [for the time] experience.

In 2005, this event repeated itself, as while the Sci-Fi Channel mounted TWO telepic sequels to "Return", some hucksters mounted a loose DTV [direct-to-video] sequel to "Day", which I cover here.

Some asylum inmates come into possession of what could possibly be an alien pathogen that transforms its victims into a new kind of being... And the victims of said beings into flesh-eating zombies. Soon the US Army gets involved, with a "shoot-to-kill" order.

While the interesting premise saves this from being unwatchable, it is still a lousy movie, with bad acting, sloppy writing and while the gore is good enough [enough for the masochists to watch this], it is not worth tracking down if you're only a casual horror fan.

My Grade: D [Bad]
