24.12.26 Boxing Day

A day late on this one... but I did record it on the right day, just got distracted!
How are you celebrating the day after Christmas? Traditionally Boxing Day has been a day where gifts were given to the needy (or, as I mention, to tenants on an estate) and it's also a bank holiday in certain countries.

We're not boxing anything up today - we've been boxing and donating for a while now, but I love the concept. We're often overflowing with riches on Christmas Day and rather than hoard them, we can go through our things (or purchase new things) and share with people less fortunate than we are.

It's a theme I have followed in my work as well. I know this profession has given me so much that I feel compelled to give back in many ways, whether it be mentoring or teaching. We can be a light in the darkness for those in need.

Happy Boxing Day, coincidentally falling on the second day of the Festival of Lights in the Jewish tradition.
