Gen 22 - The parallels between the sacrifice of Abraham's son and the son of Elohim are striking.

Gen 22:6
And Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering and laid it on Isaac his son, and he took in his hand the fire and the knife.

So the two of them walked on together. Who carried the wood? Isaac, then he wasn't a little boy. The parallels between the sacrifice of Abraham's son and the son of Elohim are striking. Abraham has the wood of his sacrifice laid on Isaac’s back, that's what happened with Yeshua too.

John 19:16-17
So he then delivered Him to them to be crucified. 17They took Jesus therefore, and He went out, bearing His own cross, to the place called the Place of a Skull, which is called in Hebrew, Golgotha.

As we go along, we will find more parallels.

Gen 22:7
And Isaac spoke to Abraham his father and said, “My father!” And he said, “Here I am, my son.” And he said, “Behold, the fire and the wood, but where is the lamb for the burnt offering?”

Even the words of Isaac here are the same words that Messiah spoke.

Matthew 26:39
And He went a little beyond them, and fell on His face and prayed, saying, “My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; yet not as I will, but as You will.”

Keep in mind, both Isaac and Messiah are both on their way to their death right now for all intents and purposes.

Matthew 26:42
He went away again a second time and prayed, saying, “My Father, if this cannot pass away unless I drink it, Your will be done.”

Isaac also knows that a lamb is needed for the offering, he said where's the lamb?

Gen 22:8
And Abraham said, “God will provide for Himself the lamb for the burnt offering, my son.” So the two of them walked on together.

And we read in

John 1:29
The next day he saw Jesus coming to him, and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!

The parallels here, the things that are said and referred to in the life of Messiah, I believe intentionally, are used, this incident with Isaac and Abraham sacrificing him.

Gen 22:9
Then they came to the place of which God had told him; and Abraham built the altar there, and arranged the wood, and bound his son Isaac, and laid him on the altar on top of the wood.

Matthew 27:1-2
Now when morning had come, all the chief priests and the elders of the people took counsel against Jesus to put Him to death; 2and they bound Him, and led Him away, and delivered Him up to Pilate the governor.
