ORLANDO, FLORIDA (December 27, 2024): A 30-minute segment from Vancouver's City News 1130 along with my own "commentary" (mostly ridicule).

B-Roll features me driving a 2008 New Flyer D40FL. The bus is out of service, headed back to the yard due to air conditioning failure (a big deal in Florida).

The bus is ex-MARTA (Atlanta) if anybody is interested.

As best as I can tell, back on December 6, 2024, the only thing happening in Vancouver was Taylor Swift was performing that night. Nothing else happened. No wars. Ne politics. No elections. No corruption. No murders. No robberies. No fires. Nothing. Nowhere. Not in Vancouver. Or Anywhere else in the world. Just Taylor Swift.

In the couple of minutes they DID find to squeeze other stuff in, they talk about a bicyclist who died after taking on a truck (yeah, bikers like to do that). They interview some guy (quite probably a gerbil enthusiast, but I can't say for sure) calling for "Vision Zero" (ie zero cars, and everyone riding bicycles like we're children again).

Your humble correspondent feels quite strongly about the bicycle thing, not having touched a bike since I was 15.

There's a business report, traffic and weather, all interwoven into the Taylor Swift theme. Bullshit unemployment numbers showing most jobs having been "created" in the government sector, while, back in the real world, it's collapsing.

Cameo appearances by Gerald Celente, Judge Andrew Napolitano, Penn Gillette, Futurama's Philip J. Fry, Homer Simpson, the Alien Bounter Hunter and Fox Mulder from The X-Files, The RCMP's Sergeant Pepper leading the police riot, some bad people robbing jewelry stores, Robert Hays from "Airplane!," the "Somebody help me!" guy from the Lending Tree commercials of the early 2000s, and even the Tomohawk Chop in honour of News 1130s's "Land Claim Acknowledgment."

I am a former GO Transit (Toronto) bus driver who moved to Orlando in 2017 on my wife's orders.

As I joke with my co-workers, I had to move to Florida to drive a Canadian bus.
