Unicorns beautiful mythical creatures

Unicorns are mythical creatures that look like horses but have a horn on their forehead. They are regarded as very noble mythical creatures and symbolise goodness. Unicorns were already mentioned in ancient times and are predominantly regarded as peaceful creatures. In the Middle Ages, unicorns were mentioned in pharmacopoeias. Marco Polo reported that he had seen a unicorn on one of his journeys. In German superstition, it is believed that unicorns are very aggressive and strong and that they can even defeat lions. In 1827, a palaeontologist tried to prove that unicorns never existed, but he couldn't prove it. Do you think unicorns ever existed or are they just mythical creatures that never existed?
