Until The School Systems Change What They Invest In, Americans Will Be Behind

Through the history of this country we have brought people into this country and educated them all around the world. The people that are crossing the border are not engineers, scientists or in the medical field.
What we have done over the years with our children and our education system. We have allowed millions to come across the border. We have said we need workers to work on the farms, construction, hotels, not engineers and scientists. So when Vivek says celebrating the prom queen over the math whiz. We don’t invest enough in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) in education. We could stop looking around the world. We have educated the world, they have come over there to get their degrees and gone back to their country.
In GA, we have SPLOST and an eSPLOST. The only thing you can do with the SPLOST is build. You can’t take the SPLOST and invest in STEM. They have spent 1.5M on a turf field, 1.5M on a bus garage, 1.5M over a weight training facility. We have spent an enormous amount of money on DEI in our education system and building medical counseling systems in our schools for the kids that don’t know who they are. We have a transition plan in place. We don’t go to the board of education and request the money be spent on STEM. Look at the last 25 years at the turn to in the education system. Until the school systems change what they invest in, Americans will be behind other countries in education.
Not everything that Elon and Vivek are saying is not wrong. Until you are ready to stop wasting money on DEI and transition programs in our schools and start focusing on STEM, it will not correct the problem.
