Adventure Awaits Sleeping along Coliseum Mountain | Expanse Cottages - Cabin Series

This is the first in a short series of videos featuring mountain adventures in combination with unique cabins you can enjoy in the Canadian Rockies. We all know how difficult it can be to explore the mountains in the winter but if search you will find all sorts of excellent places to stay & that is definitely the case with these amazing cabins located in Nordegg, AB. Expanse Cottages has been around since 2016 and now has four fireside cabins & two stargazer cabins. We stayed in "The Deer Den", one of the stargazer cabins, and got the opportunity to sleep at the step of Coliseum Mountain while enjoying all the amenities you would find at home!

Coliseum Mountain Trail is a wonderful & well-travelled trail, it is well-marked and there will always be quite a few people out when there but the trails are normally not crowded, since the trail is more challenging than some of the other easier ones in the region. Most hikers plan on spending about five hours here, but folks should plan on more time depending on the weather, since the summit is usually quite windy. Most of the ascent into the trails is a grind with all the switchbacks, once you get closer to the ridge the elevation levels out and it does become more of a chill hike with some ups and downs with insane views!
