On December twenty-sixth, Wuchang Shipbuilding, a subsidiary of China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (CSIC), successfully started construction on the second ship of the RORO transport vessel, which was built by Wuchang Shipbuilding's sail assistance for the French Louis Dreyfus Shipping Group (LDA). After the commencement of vessel one, the company's project team strengthened internal and external technical communication and coordination, conducted continuous in-depth exploration, analysis, and discussion on potential design layout and technical process risks of the vessel, and optimized the comprehensive layout of methanol double wall pipes, as well as the comprehensive selection and layout of FCUs and IDACs for construction. On October thirtyth, the comprehensive layout review of the ship's engine room and stern was completed. On November twentyth, the comprehensive layout review of the ship's construction area was completed, achieving the solidification of the ship's design technology status and providing solid and reliable technical support for subsequent production design drawings and on-site construction. After the commencement of the second ship, the company's project team will continue to do a good job in the technical work of the series of ships, give full play to the "four in one" function and advantages, continuously achieve the integration of design, production and management, strengthen lean management, comprehensively promote product construction progress, and ensure the timely delivery of high-quality ships to the shipowner. Ship Introduction: Sail assisted RORO transport ship is an advanced heavy-duty roll on/roll off ship that integrates green and environmentally friendly equipment. It is the latest developed green and environmentally friendly heavy-duty roll on/roll off ship in the world. The ship has a total length of one hundred and sixty-nine meters, a width of twenty-three.thirty-two meters, a depth of eight.five meters, a structural draft of six meters, and a service speed of fourteen knots. It adopts a large number of new equipment, new processes, and new technologies, and six rotating sails provide auxiliary power for the ship, which can significantly reduce fuel consumption and pollutant emissions, and significantly improve the efficiency and economic benefits of ship propulsion and transportation. After the ship is delivered, it will serve Airbus in France, transporting Airbus aircraft components across the Atlantic between its production base in Saint Nazaire, France and the single aisle aircraft assembly line in Mobile, Alabama, USA. Each new ship will have the capacity to transport approximately seventy forty foot containers and six single aisle aircraft components - wings, fuselage, engine mounts, horizontal and vertical tail fins.
