The NASA Transition Authorization Act of 2024, introduced in the Senate on December 18, aims to accelerate NASA’s work on commercial space stations and address cost overruns in science programs.

The bill authorizes $25.478 billion for NASA in fiscal year 2025, slightly above previous proposals.

It emphasizes a smooth transition from the International Space Station (ISS) to commercial stations by the end of the decade, ensuring a continuous human presence in low Earth orbit, Space News has reported.
