Christmas

In this sermon, we explore the profound significance of Christmas through the lens of Galatians 4:4-5, which reminds us that "when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth His Son" to redeem us and bring us into the family of God. Christmas is not just the celebration of Jesus’ birth, but a time to experience spiritual renewal and transformation.
First, Christmas is a time to release our fears. When the angel appeared to Mary in Luke 1:30-31, he reassured her, saying, “Do not be afraid... you have found favor with God.” Jesus, as the light of the world (John 8:12), dispels the darkness of fear and uncertainty, offering us peace and confidence in His presence.
Second, Christmas is a time to renew our faith. In Luke 2:10, the angel announces joy and abundance, reflecting the life Jesus brings. Jesus’ purpose, as stated in John 10:10, is to give us life—life abundant and full of purpose. Christmas invites us to renew our trust in God's promises and live with hope and expectancy.
Third, it is a time to receive forgiveness. Luke 2:11 proclaims the birth of a Savior, and in John 3:16-17, we are reminded that God gave His Son so we might be saved. Christmas is the perfect moment to accept the forgiveness Christ offers.
Lastly, Christmas is a time to rebuild relationships. As Luke 2:14 declares, "on earth peace," and 1 John 1:7 calls us to walk in the light of fellowship. This season calls us to restore our relationships with others and with God.
Christmas is truly a time to release, renew, receive, and rebuild.
