Hi everyone, welcome back to the Self-Improvement Zone!
Today, we’re diving into an incredible and unique project called The Strings of the Ladder, a journey that began over 20 years ago. This project focused on creating classical guitar arrangements inspired by the timeless tunes of Baal Hasulam (the Ladder Owner), Rabbi Yehuda Leib Halevi Ashlag.

These melodies, cherished for generations, were brought to life by the singing of his eldest son, Rabbi Baruch Ashlag (Rabash). Rabash absorbed these tunes during sacred moments with his father’s students, holidays, and special gatherings—a legacy that reaches back to the second century AD, when Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai (Rashbi) and his disciples wrote the holy Zohar in a Galilean cave.

My work to preserve the original essence of these tunes involved countless hours in the studio with my dear friend Gamaliel Sasportas. Together, we produced a CD and a booklet of carefully arranged melodies, keeping their spiritual and historical significance intact.

In today’s video, we’ll explore the characteristics of Kabbalistic music, enriched by examples of these tunes in the background. In upcoming episodes, I’ll zoom in even further to uncover the hidden layers and meaning behind every melody.

Let’s embark on this spiritual and musical journey together. Don’t forget to like, share, and comment with your thoughts!
