Two brothers narrowly escaped a large avalanche while snowmobiling in Utah’s Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest on Christmas Eve.

One brother triggered the slide but managed to escape, while the other was swept 150 yards and fully buried.

Using a transceiver, the first brother located and rescued him, finding only a gloved hand visible in the snow.

The buried brother sustained minor injuries, and both made it out safely.

The Utah Avalanche Center warns of widespread weak snow layers in northern Utah, increasing avalanche risks, especially with upcoming heavy snowfall, KSL has reported.
