In Pavlograd, a monument to a native of the city, Soviet designer Joseph Kotin, was torn down.

He created the heavy tank IS-2, which stood on a pedestal and was known as "Joseph Stalin".

A special crane from Dnepr was brought in to remove the 50-ton machine.
