It’s Christmas Eve in Miami, and I’m out hustling on Uber. First, I braved the malls for last-minute shopping—empty shelves, chaos, and Pokémon cards nowhere to be found. Taking a day off made me realize how much of life I miss when I’m stuck in the rideshare grind.

Back to work—Dadeland Mall was madness, and surges kept dodging me. Traffic was insane, and I ranted about lazy riders who won’t walk to save time. The Christmas vibe felt off this year, and the Uber algorithm was playing games with surge zones, sending me long, low-paying rides.
