TOP 5 Penang Street Food BREAKFAST! 🇲🇾 Malaysia Food and Travel

Georgetown in Penang has so much street food to offer, it's literally a Malaysian food paradise, so much that foodies across the country (and from Singapore too!) travel here specifically to stuff themselves with street delicacies. In this food vlog we go on a food adventure around George Town to explore the top 5 Malaysian breakfast spots in Penang.

The first spot I visited was Transfer Road Roti Canai, which is a popular stall among local, selling mouthwatering roti canai (WARNING I mispronounced roti canai in the video ahah). I wanted mutton but they only had chicken, which was incredible to me as I had managed to arrive there by 9am. But yeah, food at this stall can go incredibly fast and they tend to sold out by midday.

Then I visited a famous spot for Hokkien Mee, an delicious noodle soup with incredible shrimp flavour and a few interesting additions in there! Hokkien is a very fascinating cuisine in Penang and I will be making a separate video for that, so make sure you stay tuned!

Thirdly I went for the legendary Nasi Lemak, which is Malaysia national dish! Small packets of coconut flavoured steamed rice wrapped in a banana leaf! Indescribable. I had the one with grilled fish and that one with Ikan Bilis, which is fried anchovies.

Fourth position in the vlog is for Roti Bakar, at the famous Hutton Lane Roti Bakar. This is not your typical toasted bread! The half cooked eggs, the garlic bread, the flamed cheese....irresistible!

Finally, I visited an old auntie's shop for a traditional Laksa! The place is called Penang Road Famous Laksa, and its' placed in Penang Road, a street full of interesting foodie gems. I had the sour version of the Laksa, Asam Laksa and it was so yummy!
