Mary Lou was just taking the first step, reaching for the handrail leading up to the church front door. In the same moment, the little demon weasel Beki realized what was about to happen. He was familiar with Javon and knew him to be ruthless when dealing with one of his kind. He had positioned himself almost entirely inside the body of Mary Lou. When he realized what was about to happen, he began immediately to try to break free from Mary Lou's body and flee the scene. But he was not quick enough! Javon grabbed him by his scrawny neck and yanked him from his contact with Mary Lou's body. Breaking this connection so quickly caused the evil temptation that he had been feeding into her mind to be broken. Suddenly all the hatred and the anger that Mary Lou had planned to let loose on the pastor evaporated.
