GENESIS
"A Cage in Half"
September 29, 2007
Quicken Loans Arena
Cleveland, Ohio USA

Film from the audience (section 231) with Canon NTSC DC20 miniDVD camera. Approximately one hour (2.4 GB)
NTSC format

This footage represents only the first half of the concert. There is no second half because the camera battery expired.

There is an interruption near the middle / end of "In the Cage" to accommodate a disc change.

Viewers may notice a faint grey-black line running horizontal on the middle of their screen. This line is more pronounced when the filmer zooms on either of the two side screens, where the line appears to divide the oval in upper and lower sections. This is not a glitch. The line is the top of a translucent glass panel running along the lower lip of the upper bowl seating area. Unfortunately, there was nothing the filmer could do to avoid it without attracting attention or shoving other paying fans out of his way.

The title of this video was derived from all the above-mentioned "half" situations encountered.

There are admittedly many shakey shots and sequences during which the viewer will wonder if the filmer experienced a seizure of some sort, as the camera pans across light fixtures, cat walks, and other fine points of arena architecture. Such bogus shots are the price one pays for stealth. Indeed, it takes approximately four minutes into "Behind the Lines" for the filmer to get his bearings. Thereafter, he was at the mercy of people getting up in his aisle or the security usher standing in the concourse hallway directly behind him. Also bear in mind that this footage was recorded without the aid of the camera's LCD viewing screen. Activating this would likely have drawn unwanted attention to the filmer, who had to rely on quick glances in the eyepiece to know just what the hell he was shooting.

So there you have it--amateur fan footage of the first half of a wonderful Genesis performance. For every couple minutes of shakey shots there's several minutes of stable footage when the filmer rested the camera on his knee. So there's plenty for a fan to salvage and enjoy.

Please do not sell or buy this recording. All risks of recording were assumed by a paid ticket-holding fan for the benefit of other Genesis fans, for FREE.
