Speaking at the WEF, Siemens chairman Jim Hagemann Snabe on the "need" to replace meat consumption with insect and plant-based diets, in order to address the "climate crisis":

"Food systems account for around 21% of CO2 emissions... If we reinvent that, we would have zero carbon."

"If a billion people stop eating meat, it has a big impact... It will also inspire innovation of food systems."

"I predict that we will have proteins not coming from meat in the future. They will probably taste even better, so why are we trying to mimic meat if we can have a better taste? They will be zero carbon, and much healthier than the kind of food that we eat today."
