St. Gallen Mafia

A group of mostly bishops and Cardinals of the Catholic Church met in secret for decades with designs on radically changing the Catholic Church. They were the major factor in getting Pope Francis to the Chair of Peter. They ran a campaign for him, which is strictly forbidden in the Catholic Church and is punishable by excommunication.
These prelates want to change the Catholic Church and they think they have finally gotten their man in Francis. And he has made many radical changes, especially in the area of Catholic teaching on sexual morality. It seems that Francis and his ilk in the St. Gallen Mafia and other radical prelates want to essentially end Catholic teaching on sexuality. But why do they want to do so? Is it an effort to try to draw more Catholics to the pews? Is it an effort to try to ease their guilt because they have been involved in or covered up sexual immorality and abuse? Why do many Catholics want to change Catholic teaching on such issues as contraception? It has been reported that 90 plus percent of Catholics ignore Catholic teaching on sexuality. The Catholic Church proposes, it doesn't impose, so why do Catholics want change. Could it be their guilt as well? It seems obvious that if Catholic teaching on contraception did change, it wouldn't change their behavior, so why do members of the St. Gallen Mafia and many other prelates and many Catholics want change. I don't have a clear answer to that. I do know that many don't like to be told how to run their lives, so what are they really saying. It seems to be a reaction of denial that they don't really want to hear the truth.
As Pope Pius Xl and others have said, the greatest danger to the Catholic Church comes from within. That still holds true today, even more so. The prelates don't want to admit that Vatican ll has been a disaster, so they double down. A common reaction of someone who is proven wrong but won't admit it.
