Thai fried chicken (gai tod) has been one of the most interesting discovery of all the thai street food I've eaten so far. As a fan of KFC and korean fried chicken, this really impressed me. Here in this Thailand food and travel vlog I found this juicy fried chicken made in a southern Thailand style; they call it Hat Yai fried chicken because it has its roots in the city of Hat Yai. I tried thai chicken wings with sweet chili sauce, but also the drumstick and the thigh parts. They were all delicious and juicy! The recipe for this southern thai chicken entails big pieces of chicken being marinated in things like garlic, shallots, soy sauce and then the pieces are tossed into salt and sugar to caramelize the chicken skin in order to become crispy.

The pantip thai night market in Koh Phangan was lovely and there was a variety of original thai street food all very appetizing but this fried chicken thai style was the highlight of the trip. The night market is located in Thong Sala, near the pier that takes you back to Surath Thani.

Keep following me for the next few Thailand vlogs before I move to the next country!

This is a travel for food channel and I enjoy eating street food around the world! Eating street food from different countries is what keeps me alive :D
