In the context of this Chapter, Abram's and Sarai's deal they made with each other in the last chapter may have had some ulterior motives, it seems... Were Abram and Sarai really devising a way to to get in good with the powers that be in Egypt to better their "Lot" in life? Abram: "Sarai, if we can get in good with the Pharaoh, maybe we can turn our lemons into lemonade. Why don't you say you're my sister, get in good with the ruling class of Egypt, and let's work it to get rich? Sarai: "I don't know, Abram... That seems a bit risky. Abram: Come on, Sarai. It's now or never! We need this... Sarai: But Abram... Lot: I say we do it. Abram: Two against one... Sarai: Fine!

~Don't Piss Off Noah when He's Been Drinkin' ~ Not a Christian. I've Never Read the Bible. But there is no doubt this book has been exceptionally consequential to human civilization. What's actually written in this thing that has shaped so many lives? I invite you to explore with me -- on this chapter by chapter "Bible Reaction" journey. *** 1) It sounds like God here is creating the concept of Man's Law vs. God's Law. Basically, saying you humans down there need to be responsible for yourselves from now on with your own affairs. I'm out. Not gonna meddle any more. Is that what I'm reading here? 2) So one of Noah's sons walks by his ten and sees him passed out drunk and naked. So Noah (being a good man for his time) doesn't curse himself for drinking himself into oblivion and passing out naked in his tent, but curses his son for walking by and noticing... I must be missing something here... Was his son sneaking around and spying? Was he "gossiping"? Is Noah just a mean drunk and overreacting? Please explain this to me...
