LOOK OUT FOR EACH OTHER
Philippians 2:3-4 New King James Version
3 Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. 4 Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.
GOOD EVENING IN YESHUA MY DEAR FRIENDS!!!
Something about this passage of scripture really touched my heart, because growing up as a Christian, I was indoctrinated into believing that I had to be in this type of spiritual competition with my fellow believers, where a lot of hurt feelings occurred. I think that's why I was really encouraged and challenged by what Tim Gustafson, this morning's devotional writer shared, concerning Gregory and Basil, and how they were pretty much like another version of David and Jonathan. This first question from this morning's devotional really had me thinking about what it means to look out for my fellow believers, and not to be in any kind of spiritual competition with them, and I had to share it with all of you tonight. Please read this question carefully, and I pray that God speaks to you through it.
What qualities do you see in Gregory and Basil's friendship?
Tonight, my friends, I'd like to share some things that God showed me not only out of this morning scripture, but out of others especially like these verses above, through this vlog I'd like to share with all of you tonight, and I pray that what I share with you challenges and motivates you to want to encourage your fellow brothers and sisters in Christ to want to grow in faith, hope, and good deeds. Come join me in this vlog tonight my friends, and learn what it means to truly lookout for each other in Christ! 😊
So, my friends, as I close this post with all of you tonight, I want to leave you with this final question from this morning's devotional, and I pray that you really deeply think about it and act on it.
How could you encourage your friends to grow in faith, hope, and good deeds?
I pray that you are praying for, and encouraging your brothers and sisters in Christ to live their best life possible in Him. That you think of them and their ministry, by praying for them, finding out what ways you can help them, and send them an encouraging note, phone call, text, e-mail, or message on social media, just to let them know that you are thinking about, care for, and are praying for them. Let’s Tim's question of “What if we made faith, hope, and good deeds the ambition of our own friendships, then encouraged our friends to become more successful in this goal than ourselves individually?”, and actually put it into practice this year.
