Christmas 2024

The message on December 22, 2024 was a Christmas story centered around Luke 1 and 2. Luke starts out proclaiming what he was writing about is the truth as seen by many eye witnesses and ministers of the word. Wayne to time to look at Mary, the mother of Jesus and how she was a very thoughtful woman. There aren’t many new songs of Christmas but the one Wayne liked is called “Mary, Did You Know”. Verse one of the song goes like this “Mary, did you know, That your baby boy will one day walk on water? Mary, did you know, That your baby boy will save our sons and daughters? Did you know, That your baby boy has come to make you new? This child that you’ve delivered, Will soon deliver you”. This puts Mary in her place as a sinful human being that needed a savior, just like you and me. The story of how John the Baptist was six months ahead of Jesus, and the signs that were fulfilled with Zacharias and Elisabeth, and the birth of John. The role of Gabriel, the arc-angel of God delivered the good news the them as he did with Mary. This message is the classic Christmas story of how God became flesh and dwelt among us. Even Mary pondered in her heart, how the child she carried, had come to save her.

The scripture reading was from Luke 1:28-33 KJV “28 And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women. 29 And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be. 30 And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. 31 And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.32 He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: 33 And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.”
