MASSIVE Mistake May Cost Starmer Dear This Xmas!

Right, so I fancy nothing could quite warm the cockles of many a Xmas heart across the UK and goodness knows a lot of us need something to warm ourselves, such as Granny freezer Keir Starmer getting frozen out himself, as reports this morning are that Donald Trump’s team have looked at Keir Starmer’s offering of an ambassador to the UK and decided that much like a large majority of the UK, Peter Mandelson gives them the ick.
It is hardly surprising. Starmer thought playing what was ostensibly the Epstein card would ensure Mandelson was quids in with the big orange man baby, but unfortunately he forgot to factor in just how thin skinned little Donnie is, forgot to factor in comments about Trump that Mandelson has made, and actually it has exposed even further Keir Starmer’s lack of political acumen and ability to lead, that he’s managed to make matters even worse with Trump than they were before and with rumours circling that Starmer didn’t even make this choice, but someone else pulling the strings from behind the scenes did, Starmer’s capability is coming under even more question in the run up to Xmas.
Right, so there has been a fair bit of pick up in the mainstream media about this story, not huge amounts though, I thought they’d have more fun with this, it’s the sort of thing they’d sensationalise, but pretty much within minutes of Keir Starmer having announced that his offering to the US by way of ambassador from the UK was going to be the Prince of Darkness himself, Peter Mandelson, a scorching response came back from Team Trump saying exactly what they thought of this, courtesy of one of Trump’s campaign managers Chris LaCivita, pictured here looking like the kind of Santa Claus that would steal the pesents from under your tree rather than leave them, who, allegedly with Trump’s full permission – and actually this reads partly like a Trump tweet, so could easily have been a quote – tweeted in response to this news that:
‘This UK govt is special replace a professional universally respected Ambo with an absolute moron - he should stay home! SAD! Mandelson described Trump as a danger to the world and ‘little short of a white nationalist’
Now, far be it from me to wish to defend somebody like Peter Mandelson, he is mendacious, he is a walking scandal in the making, having disgraced himself twice in government to the point he was forced to resign on both occasions. His company is being investigated for lobbying rule breaches in relation to the scam that are freeports, but of all the things I could say about Mandelson and indeed did so a couple days ago when this announcement by Team Keith came out, that Mandy was going to be their man in the US, but one thing I couldn’t ever call Mandelson is stupid. You can’t be stupid and get away with as much as he has, you can’t be stupid and have more comebacks than a coiled spring like he has and actually it is US stupidity, Trump campaign stupidity that has actually be highlighted by this comment.
Sure, Mandelson did say those things about Trump, but they were said five years ago, when he was still President the first time around, calling Trump ‘little short of a white nationalist and racist’ and also saying that even people who have a ‘sneaking admiration’ for him, also see him as ‘reckless and a danger to the world’
Mandelson’s ties to China and the EU through previous roles has also got Trump and his team’s backs up.
That Trump’s skin is so thin he allegedly gave permission to LaCivita to tweet that out comes as no surprise at all, even after five years, but it also looks really weak and pathetic from Trump’s perspective, when you consider that the now incoming vice President JD Vance compared Trump to Hitler far more recently than that and perhaps they should have paid a bit more attention to that.
Fundamentally, the US is not impressed with this appointment and when Mandelson’s main objective as given to him already is to try and head off Trumps threat of tariffs, of anywhere between 10% and 20% on foreign imports, that will be the measure of whether Mandelson has had any success at that, because if tariffs come, he will have failed and his appointment over the incumbent will in no small part be seen as the reason for that failure and the failure will squarely fall flat on Starmer for appointing someone the US incoming administration really don’t like.
The ambassador to the US still in place, Karen Pierce, is nicknamed the Trump Whisperer apparently, such are the inroads she has been making with the Trump team, they have a lot more respect for her, they have stated she ought to stay, she’s proven her worth, they like dealing with her, read into that what you like, but removing an ambassador on good terms with an incoming government to send over someone they don’t like any more than we don’t like him, is just abject stupidity and there seems little logic or sense to it.
But then that brings us on to who is pushing for this appointment for Mandelson in which case. Starmer has no political nous. If he did, he’d let someone like Karen Pierce stay in post and do the job she already knows how to do, not complicate matters, not rock the boat, but that isn’t happening and apparently has never been on the cards.
The Financial Times for example has reported that according to a Downing Street source – yes one of them – it’s been Peter or not Peter for ages, like it was never a thought to leave a capable ambassador with good links to the new government in waiting in place.
There was obviously the thinking that both having ties to Jeffrey Epstein might be an in, how depraved a line of thinking is that? But arguably Mandelson went even further down the pipes last month when he suggested Nigel Farage might be a good bridge between the Starmer administration and both Trump and Elon Musk, since he gets on so well with both, and again as much as you might that thought distasteful, everything about the Trump administration to come is distasteful, but even Mandelson sees how likability is an important factor, hence the suggestion. I doubt even someone as inept as Starmer took that seriously, but again it goes to show whatever you think of Mandelson, he is not a stupid man.
Starmer is a different matter, especially politically and the consequences of his actions here are already being heard. A Trump team source – yes anonymous again – cited by the Independent is quoted as saying:
‘A well-placed Trump source said of the appointment: “It’s not going over well. I think it’s a horrible arrogant pick – and one that’s likely to get the UK locked out of most important discussions.”’
Valid argument, Trump’s team are under obligation to meet with, talk with, or include Mandelson in any trade discussions going forwards.
So why this big push to send Mandelson overseas then? Why, given Mandelson was brought into the Starmer inner circle as an advisor, do they suddenly want shot of him from that position into another role? Starmer certainly gets on with him otherwise the vainglorious fool wouldn’t hand him this role for a start, but is there more to it than that?
Sue Grey for example, Starmer’s former Chief of Staff was brought in as fast as possible, too fast given the furore it kicked up upon her leaving the civil service to work for Starmer, but then she got deposed rather quickly and her space got filled by Starmer’s former campaign manager, Morgan McSweeney, Grey now being rewarded with a lifetime grift as yet another unelected £300 a day benefit claimant in the House of Lords.
McSweeney now in that role and despite him being the man who brought Mandelson in, well, perhaps the only person McSweeney now wants Starmer to listen to is him.
McSweeney was the man behind the antisemitism scam that brought down Jeremy Corbyn, McSweeney was heavily involved in the handpicking of Labour candidates around the country, not least of which his own wife Imogen Walker, who is now the Labour MP for Hamilton and Clyde Valley and the Personal Private Secretary to Rachel Reeves. That handpicking was apparently done alongside Lord Alli, the guy behind Starmer’s free suits and glasses. McSweeney was, back in June, named as the number one most influential progressive figure in the UK by the New Statesman, though there is nothing progressive about him at all and likewise the Murdoch Times also referred to McSweeney’s position by saying ‘nobody without elected office wields as much power in British politics as McSweeney’. And for once I have to agree with them.
With connections to multiple Labour MPs who owe him their posts, to the seeing off of Sue Grey, of Lord Alli, and now it seems Lord Mandelson, it’s like a who’s who of Starmer advisers departing roles of closeness to Starmer, leaving only McSweeney and you end up wondering if this is all part of his plan and who the hell is really running things around here?
If you’ve not caught up with the bigger scandal surrounding Mandelson yet though, namely the investigation by the lobbying watchdog into Mandelson’s lobbying company and breaking the rules there, because the mainstream media are totally ignoring that, please do check out this video recommendation here as your suggested next watch and please do also hit like, share and subscribe if you haven’t done so already, so you don’t miss new content and it all helps support the channel which is very much appreciated.
I am signing off as of today for Christmas, a few days break with the family, so I’ll be back with new content on the 27th, normal service resuming with new content dropping daily, let me wish you all a very Merry Xmas and I’ll hopefully catch you on the next vid. Cheers folks.
