Germany Christmas Market Attack: Anti-Migrants Protesters Erupt, Seven Indians Among Injured

Around a hundred far-right protesters hit the streets of Magdeburg, calling for the repatriation of migrants. The protests followed the arrest of a 50-year-old suspect from Saudi Arabia. Authorities are probing a Saudi doctor with a history of anti-Islam rhetoric. The motive for the attack is not clear yet, but the German prosecutor said the suspect's dissatisfaction with Germany's treatment of Saudi refugees could have played a role. German Chancellor Scholz visited the attack site and attended a church service for victims. This came after, the suspect rammed his SUV into Christmas market revelers in Magdeburg on December 20. The attack killed five, including a nine-year-old, and injured 205 people, reportedly including seven Indians- three have been discharged from the hospital. The Indian embassy is in touch with all the wounded. India has condemned the "horrific and senseless attack."
