We are joined by ex-Lieutenant Colonel Alistair Pope, who served in Vietnam, Indonesia and Papua New Guinea. He has since published over 300 articles in a variety of publications including Quadrant Strategy & Tactics, World at War, Camaraderie and military history magazines in the United States.

He is also an accomplished Chess player, with his own published books on the game.

Drawing on his experience and knowledge, Alistair details Australia’s current military capabilities, or ‘incapabilities’ as it appears – including nuclear submarines, the F-35A and the electric Bushmaster.

Alistair also explains what equipment our defence force should be focusing on by giving examples of recent conflicts and what proved most effective in combat.

This is an episode full of detail from a man with decades of experience – so much so that it could not be contained in one episode.
