Ramsis Retro Longplay | Original released version of Sid Meier's Civilization II played on the Windows XP computer. This is the original (vanilla) edition released in 1996 and played in full on computer. Music, heralds and FMV all work fully due to playing this on older computer and everything will be shown and showcased as was originally found in the game. The game itself was released on a CD and was originally intended for the DOS based computer systems. The disc was updated to work on Windows 95 and up computers soon after and became one of the highest selling and most popular games in the Civilization series thereafter.

The next in the series, the second, the one that put it on the map and kept it there forever more. The second and most memorable game to most in the Civilization series. Led to many additions and spin offs for the game that would never die. In this playthrough we will just play through the game on the second level as the Americans and show what the game has to offer. We may look at other versions of Civilization II later on for playthroughs. But for this one, we just want to take a look back at the one that started it all and what it felt like playing this originally released version of CIV 2 so many years ago. Once again released by Microprose. And while Sid Meier didn't have much influence on the game he still gave his approval and it was heavily based off of his first game and thus his name is slapped on it once more as it would be for every other game in the Civilization series.

Another one of Ramsis favorite games growing up. Civilization II on the PC was so many years worth of gameplays and fun that it definitely holds a very special place in his past and heart. After not playing it for so long it will definitely be a fun experience reliving the thrill again with all of you. It's just like the first Civilization, you start in the year 4000 BC as a single settler and work your way to present time trying to survive the test of time and be the top nation standing when all is said and done. Only this time we get great music, great movies, great advisors and new units and skills to uncover.

You start out as a single settler and found a city and then it takes off from there. Build units to explore and defend your city. Build more settlers to build cities and work the land. Research advances to get even more units, buildings and abilities in your civilization. Change governments and then of course take on the opponents by defeating them all to become the sole survivor and only civilization left to rule the world.
