Biologist and ecology writer from UC Berkeley, Craig Downer, is an authority on the role of horses in our environment. Downer studies the contributions of wild horses to Western soils, plants, fauna and humans. As he describes in his books, “The wild horses greatly help to truly restore America’s ecosystems, but are unfairly targeted by the livestock and extractive industries.” Downer created a program entitled Reserve Design (aka “re-wilding”) which supports self-stabilizing wildlife populations through intelligent and caring programs that restore naturally flourishing ecosystems. These ecosystems nourished millions of Indigenous people prior to colonization. Craig worked with Wild Horse Annie, the legendary western icon, who forged the Wild Free Roaming Horses and Burros Act that unanimously passed in 1971.

The Professor goes deep into Western Land issues, Science from Craig and dramatic Western Wild Horses!
