Mike Lee: Last night, the Senate voted to blow a $200 billion hole in the Social Security Trust fund, hastening its insolvency. I raised a budget point of order to stop this foolish course of action. 29 Republicans joined me.
This is how it happens:
In the middle of the night, Congress blew a $200 billion hole in the Social Security Trust Fund
With more time we could’ve addressed the issue at hand without hastening the Fund’s insolvency
But Congress was impatient - Even though there was no urgency
