Cicada Emerges

The emergence of a cicada refers to its transformation from a nymph to an adult. Cicadas live underground as nymphs for years, feeding on plant roots. When conditions are right, they surface, shed their exoskeleton, and become winged adults. This process is often synchronized in large groups, creating significant natural events. Adult cicadas primarily focus on reproduction, after which they die, leaving behind eggs to start the next cycle.
