Full Video Of Police Restraining Child Is Released — Parents Should Have Helped!

People seem to forget that domestic violence causes irreparable harm to children. People seem to be blaming this child for how he behaved. Consider what he has had to witness during his very short life and the trauma he will have endured to get to this point. He would have been terrified, confused, angry, distressed. He is a child. He may have lunged at the police, but as far as he was concerned, they were taking someone away. Again, he a ten-year-old child, involved in a household with domestic violence.

Those two police officers showed him more compassion than many of the people here have shown him. At least they understood what was happening to this child and worked to calm him down. Inferring that he somehow "deserved" what he got, insinuating that it was some kind of punishment. It was not. That is a very damaged child. Perhaps we all need to start finding our humanity to recognize it. No child deserves to be in a household plagued with domestic violence. That child's reaction to even more violence is what happens to kids in these types of households. Blame the parents or the violent parent. Not the child.
