GLENDALE, Calif. -- Rose Marie Goss, 55, of Glendale, Calif., died Monday, May 26, at her home.

Memorial services were June 1 at Celebrity Centre International, Hollywood, Calif. Per her wishes, cremation rites were accorded.

Rose was born Rose Marie Harmon on April 11, 1953, in Ottawa. She was the last of 12 children born to James Sylvester and Mary Lela (Malone) Harmon. She grew up in the Dayton and Ottawa area and graduated from Ottawa Township High School and attended the Chicago Art Institute. In 1973, Rose moved to Los Angeles and married Edward Goss on June 21, 1974.

She was the mother of two talented artists, master painter, Bryten Goss (1976-2006) and fine art photographer, Shalon Goss (b. 1980).

She was an accomplished artist and early in her career, Rose was chief editor for Today's Professionals magazine. Later she became a freelance writer, then screenwriter and producer. Rose produced an award winning film, claiming both the Gold Aurora Award and the Accolade Award for the best documentary with "The Day in the Life," about the life of a voice actor. Rose also co-wrote and directed Nancy Cartwright's world-traveling one-woman show, "My Life As a 10-Year-Old Boy," which premiered at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, then toured Australia, New Zealand, England and Canada. Rose also co-founded Happy House, a group to help build better families.

Nancy Cartwright is best know for the voice of Bart Simpson and is an active member of Scientology and a mega financial contributor. Rose was best friends with Nancy and Danny Masterson's mother.

Skip shares his heartbreaking story of Rose when she came to Skip, who she had considered for a husband at one point, and told him that he had been deemed a suppressive person and she had to discontinue any connections with him.

After that conversation they never spoke again.
