INTANGIBLE AFTERGLOW

In my opinion, it goes like this... and ironically, the song I chose (out of 10) is called NO REGRETS. I lost my girlfriend to cardiac arrest in 2002 and was on the phone with her when she took her last breath. It was from that experience that I wrote this poem, but this video is about a young girl who loses her older brother to drowning.

INTANGIBLE AFTERGLOW

last breath, finally apart
undiscovered light for a fresh new start

it's a better place
one with spirit
one with grace
for you to be one soul set free, eternally

your journey awaits, as others commiserate of your death, as they cannot relate

For those we loved
For those we've lost
For those who still live within us
Now just a memory in thought

Their spirit carries on from the mark they left
Even though they are gone and onto their new quest

The pain we feel is real because as humans we need to feel

One day as our own life fades to dark, we grab onto the intense light and physically disappear

The intangible effect we had on others will remain
Our spirit will carry on, and live on, for generations to come

And this cycle happens over and over, like it has done in the past and millions of years into the future

Our lives are just a spark, a lightning strike, hopefully leaving a mark

A quick moment in time on earth's clock

Here is my two cents
It’s a limited time we are here
Then off to nothingness and disappear

Doesn’t seem right
We live and we fight
And one day we are out of sight

Maybe we will reunite
Or maybe we won’t
Once you take that big trip
It’s your journey to unzip

From birth
To leaving this Earth
In a flash, your ash gets thrown into an urn where you stay stashed

Off the fence or out from the trenches
You leave your enemies, your adversaries

Leave it to your family as they keep you in spirit and mind

When you die it’s eternity and you lose your identity
It’s an infinite afterglow
That is my two cents
