We got a taste of DOGE in action yesterday and today as Elon, nearly single handedly shut down a 1,547 page pork-filled omnibus right before Christmas. After the internet went ablaze and Speaker Johnson's fate was held in the mix, a new 116 page bill was released. In it, is an extension to the debt ceiling till January 30th, 2027, the American relief act of 2024, funding for farmers and disaster relief for those affected by the hurricanes. Now, the ball is in the Democrats' court, and Hakeem Jeffries has already stated the new bill as "laughable." The old bill was filled with goodies for Democrata to chew on, including a pay raise and better health benefits. So if the government shuts down it will be Democrats to own.
