Firefighters from the Union Fire District of South Kingstown released body camera footage of the massive fire they battled on Monday afternoon at a multifamily home.

The fire started just before 1 p.m. at a home on Amos Street. Fire Chief Steven Pinch said firefighters arrived within minutes and found heavy flames coming from the third floor. Pinch said everyone inside the home escaped before firefighters arrived.

Fire officials then struck a second alarm, leading to crews from Narragansett, North Kingstown, Richmond, Exeter, Hope Valley, and Charlestown coming to assist. According to Pinch, the crews had the fire extinguished quickly and kept it from spreading to other parts of the home. The house sustained significant damage.

One firefighter was taken to a local hospital with burns to his legs. He has since been released from the hospital. Pinch said no one else was injured during the fire.

The fire affected three families who lived in the multifamily home.
