336 - Isaiah 7:14 - Syria Falls and Emmanuel Arrives

The Syrian government has collapsed, and ISIS terrorists have taken over the country. This will usher in a dramatic change in Middle East geopolitical dynamics. Here at Christmas time, the event also reminds us of the prophecy of the Messiah's birth in Isaiah 7:14. The child born of a virgin was to be the sign to King Ahaz that Israel would be delivered from the invading armies of Rezin, king of Syria. But in the prophesy, God was looking far beyond the temporal deliverance from some foreign enemy. God was foretelling how the ultimate deliverance would come through the incarnation of the Son of God.
