The martyrdom day of the Chaar Sahibzaade, or the four sons of Guru Gobind Singh, is commemorated on December 26th, also known as Shaheedi Diwas:
December 21, 1704
The Mughals attacked the Guru's entourage at the Sarsa rivulet, separating the Guru's family.
December 22, 1704
The older Sahibzaade, Ajit Singh and Jujhar Singh, were killed in the battle of Chamkaur.
December 27, 1704
The younger Sahibzaade, Zorawar Singh and Fateh Singh, were executed by the Mughals in Sirhind.
On Shaheedi Diwas, Sikhs gather in Gurdwaras to remember the sacrifice of the Chaar Sahibzaade and to reaffirm their commitment to the Sikh faith. The martyrdom of the Chaar Sahibzaade is a significant event in Sikh history and an inspiration for Sikhs around the world.
