More than a third of Lebanon's population are Syrian refugees, with additional refugees arriving from Palestine every day. Over 2 million people are seeking shelter in the country. According to the UN and the Lebanese government, refugees have cost the country between 50 and 60 billion dollars. On top of this, Lebanon is regularly bombed by Israel. Farmers leaving for the fields in the morning don’t know if their homes will still stand by evening. This has collapsed the economy, triggering a financial crisis. Today, 82% of Lebanese live below the poverty line. This is the third-largest economic crisis Lebanon has faced in the past 150 years.
