DEGRADATION - DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE

Don’t drink and drive. You won’t thrive. You will die. I never got a DUI but have friends who did. I was lucky back in the 1990s and early 2000s. TODAY they will lock you up! Trust me.

DEGRADATION

Didn't think
Before you drove
And drank
Now in the tank
Smells rank
Your cell mate sold crank
And alcoholics in your family
Whom you have to thank

Because
The poison in your blood
Floods like mud
Slowly but surely
Passed down
From generation to generation
A gradual degradation
Breakdown
Of family values and morals
Mind, body and soul

As you take to the bottle
And spiral out of control
Friends who knew you
Thought that you were
A dead soul
Living in a black hole

Without a spirit
Lost in space
Minute by minute
Barely coherent

Time to put you back
On the clearance rack
Damaged goods
You are out of whack

Your bloody liver
Makes me quiver

River of booze
In your veins
Nothing else to lose
Because you choose
To remain insane
