Office Bro-Mance:

Not a word was spoken—
And if a word, not a full statement.
A quizzical look pierced the heart of communication,
Saying more than words in quiet agitation.

Eyes flit like a sing-a-long bouncing ball—
Or maybe back and forth like a Pneumatic typewriter—
Ding! The message received and returned with a nod,
Before any of the rest of us knew they was bein’ insultin’.

What wizardry is this? Psychically communicatin’
In a mental world of non-verbal gesticulation.
These two best friends were privately fomentin’
Paranoia in the air with mere vibration.

“I didn’t say a thing.” One coyly huffed,
In a breathy, moist cloud of faux-insult.
The other smirked, betraying their innocents,
A taunt like an arrow pointing to their intentions.

Husbands to their respective wives,
Yet an old married couple in their shared lives—
These two jokers plot and scheme behind talkative eyes—
Lobbing practical bombs with omissions and lies.

We love ‘em anyway, I suppose…
Even if they keep us from the inside;
hidin’ jokes from public view—
Behind sniggering faces without a punchline.
