Shoplifting $20k From Best Buy Wasn’t a Good Idea

On May 14th, 2024, dispatch received a call regarding two suspected shoplifters linked to a string of thefts from multiple Best Buy locations. The suspects had stolen merchandise worth $7,000 from the store. Officers took the female suspect’s statement. The woman continued to tell the officers that she hadn't done anything. The man wasn’t willing to talk to the officers at all. She continued to deny the crime they had committed. Both of them were arrested in January for stealing $20,000 worth of merchandise from a Miami Best Buy. The male was charged with resisting arrest, felony grand theft auto, possession of controlled substances and first degree petit theft while the female was charged with grand theft.
