L.A. Noire | Popcorn and soup, Cole exposing and taking down LA drug rings
Gameplay Part 5
Using groundbreaking new animation technology, MotionScan, that captures every nuance of an actor's facial performance in astonishing detail, L.A. Noire is a violent crime thriller that blends breathtaking action with true detective work to deliver an unprecedented interactive experience. Search for clues, chase down suspects and interrogate witnesses as you struggle to find the truth in a city where everyone has something to hide.
Amid the post-war boom of Hollywood's Golden Age, Cole Phelps is an LAPD detective thrown headfirst into a city drowning in its own success. Corruption is rampant, the drug trade is exploding, and murder rates are at an all-time high. In his fight to climb the ranks and do what's right, Phelps must unravel the truth behind a string of arson attacks, racketeering conspiracies and brutal murders, battling the L.A. underworld and even members of his own department to uncover a secret that could shake the city to its rotten core.
In this playthrough, we cover:
Chapter 4: Vice Desk
Phelps and his Vice partner, Roy Earle, investigate the overdose deaths of two young men, Cornell Eustace and Tyrone Lamont, surrounded by Black Caesar-branded morphine and drugged food. Evidence points to Fleetwood Morgan, a musician and low-level dealer, who reveals that the drugs are being distributed through Ramez Removals. Following the trail, Phelps uncovers that the morphine is being transported inside Polar Ice Company delivery trucks, using crates of ice to hide the contraband. The investigation escalates to the source: military surplus morphine stolen from the SS Coolridge. Phelps and Earle take down the operation, exposing a deadly narcotics ring run by mobsters exploiting post-war corruption and drug demand.
DLC Case:
Reefer Madness: Phelps and Earle investigate a marijuana distribution ring after a shootout at a house full of stashed reefer bricks. Following leads, they uncover that the drugs are being smuggled through Parnell's Soup Co., where tins of soup are used as a front for massive marijuana shipments. A raid on the factory reveals a large-scale drug operation involving corrupt employees and organized crime figures, as Phelps works to shut down the operation for good.
