Christian DESTROYS Argument "Where Did Jesus Say I'm God, Worship Me?" | Sam Shamoun

The claim that Jesus never explicitly stated "I am God, worship me" misses the profound and multifaceted ways in which His divinity is affirmed throughout Scripture.

First, consider the testimony of God the Father Himself. In Hebrews 1:8-12, it is written:

"But about the Son he says, 'Your throne, O God, will last for ever and ever; a scepter of justice will be the scepter of your kingdom. You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions by anointing you with the oil of joy.' He also says, 'In the beginning, Lord, you laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands. They will perish, but you remain; they will all wear out like a garment. You will roll them up like a robe; like a garment they will be changed. But you remain the same, and your years will never end.'" - This passage directly addresses Jesus as God, highlighting His eternal nature and His role in creation.

Furthermore, Jesus' acceptance of worship is a clear indication of His divinity. In John 20:28, Thomas declares,

"Thomas said to him, 'My Lord and my God!'" - Here, Thomas recognizes Jesus as divine, and Jesus does not correct him but accepts this worship, affirming His deity.

Additionally, Jesus claims attributes exclusive to God. In John 8:58, Jesus says:

"'Very truly I tell you,' Jesus answered, 'before Abraham was born, I am!'" - By using "I am," Jesus invokes the divine name given to Moses in Exodus, claiming eternal existence and thus, divinity.

The argument that Jesus must explicitly state He is God to be divine is not only shortsighted but also inconsistent when applied to other truths about Jesus acknowledged by Muslims. Just as the Quran does not have Jesus saying verbatim He is the Christ, the Word of God, or a spirit from Him, yet these truths are accepted, so too should the biblical declarations of Jesus' divinity be considered valid.
