ABC News has agreed to pay $15 million to settle a defamation lawsuit filed by Donald Trump. The dispute arose from comments made by George Stephanopoulos in March 2024, which inaccurately claimed Trump had been found liable for rape in a civil case involving E. Jean Carroll. The settlement includes a donation to Trump's future presidential library and an apology from ABC News. Additionally, the network will cover over $1 million in Trump’s legal fees
