Too Little, Too Late - Rover 800 Coupe

Hello again! :D

Launched originally as a teaser concept for the upcoming Rover 800 during 1986, the Rover CCV or Coupe Concept Vehicle proved to be an unexpected boon for Rover amid the backdrop of its privatisation, and with the company very much open to the concept of new models to help revive its fortunes on the global market, Rover's design team proposed that the car should be taken forward for mass assembly to compliment the Rover 800, and more importantly the Sterling equivalent in America.

However, Rover's management proved to be indecisive on the matter, and despite a nearly complete car having been presented in 1986, the executives dragged their feet on the matter until it was far too late, the eventual Rover 800 Coupe of 1992 being launched a year after Rover's departure from the American market, while a car of its style and profile had no mass appeal in Britain and Europe, thus leading to yet another commercial disappointment.
