Cleaning Summer Fountains & Emergency Repotting After Heavy Rain

In today’s video, I’m tackling a couple of garden chores that have been piling up! First, I cleaned up the murky floating solar fountains. They’re a fun summer addition, but no one tells you about the algae, wasps, and hard water stains that come with them. I scrubbed out the water tubs, packed the fountains away for the season, and made a few changes to make future cleanups easier—like ditching the rocks in the tubs. Plus, I added some algaecide to keep the water clear and wasp-free.

Next up, an emergency repotting! After last night's heavy rain, my beautiful Cupressus trees in tall pots were waterlogged, and those drainage holes just weren't cutting it. If you’ve ever had drainage issues with tall planters, you’ll relate to this one. Come along as I repot, clean up the dwarf willow, and handle a few other garden tasks!

If you have any tips for keeping tall planters from becoming a swamp, I’d love to hear them!
