Christian PROVES Jesus CLAIMED To Be God | Sam Shamoun

Jesus Christ boldly and unequivocally claimed divinity, positioning Himself as equal to God in essence and nature, yet distinct from the Father. This assertion is not just revolutionary; it's the cornerstone of Christian theology, declaring Jesus as both fully God and fully man. His claim to be the divine shepherd, the one whose voice the sheep hear and follow, directly aligns Him with the God of the Old Testament who speaks of His sheep and His hand in Psalm 95:6-7 - "Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker; for he is our God and we are the people of his pasture, the flock under his care." - This passage speaks to God's sovereignty over His people, a sovereignty Jesus claims for Himself.

Moreover, Jesus's declaration that no one can snatch His sheep from His hand mirrors the language used by God in Isaiah 43:13 - "Yes, and from ancient days I am he. No one can deliver out of my hand. When I act, who can reverse it?" - Here, the context is God’s omnipotence and unchangeable will, attributes Jesus claims for Himself, further cementing His divine identity.

Deuteronomy 32:39 reinforces this by stating, "See now that I myself am he! There is no god besides me. I put to death and I bring to life, I have wounded and I will heal, and no one can deliver out of my hand." - This verse underlines God's sole authority over life and death, a power Jesus clearly attributes to Himself by promising eternal life and moral incorruptibility to His followers.

Jesus's distinction from yet unity with the Father is beautifully articulated in John 10:29-30 - "My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. I and the Father are one." - This passage explains Jesus's relational dynamic with the Father, where they share in the same divine essence and power, yet are distinct in personhood.

The Jewish response to Jesus's claim, planning to stone Him for blasphemy, because He, being a man, made Himself out to be God, confirms that they understood His assertions exactly as they were meant - that Jesus was claiming divinity, not just prophetic authority or moral teaching. This confrontation, recorded in John 10:31-33, is a testament to the clarity of His claim to be God.
