Washington State Democrats Are Going To Attempt To Pass A Tax On Unrealized Gains This Session

Posted • December 13, 2024: Money hungry —— Washington State Democrats plan to try to take more taxpayers' money because they can. This time they're going for the left's flavor-of-the-week check jack: taxing "unrealized capital gains." That means they want to tax you on investments that you haven't cashed in nor from which you've made any money. WA Democrats are going to attempt to pass a tax on unrealized gains this session. Taxing money that does not yet exist is a terrible idea and will only result in more wealth leaving our state. "Unrealized capital gains" is an Orwellian term. An "unrealized" "gain" is not a gain.
